Garage Sale Find

A whole week has gone by since my last post.
I didn't mean to be away so long but you know how time flies!

Friday was a big annual garage sale day.  I bought this from a neighbor down the street and at a very reasonable price.  I have a Singer treadle but I bought it anyway.

I took these photos just after it was brought into the living room.  It needs to be cleaned.  There is no more space in my sewing room so I am using it as a behind-the-sofa table.  After snapping the pix I closed the machine and it now has a lamp on top.

The words "two spool" are on the machine

This brass measuring device is embedded into the wood cabinet

This chain mechanism lifts and lowers the machine as the lid is opened and closed

I will remove this piece of cloth that a previous owner placed on it.

This drawer on the right side has spindles to hold thread spools.

It came with a drawer full of attachments.

I have another busy week ahead so I'm sorting out what I need to do and where I will need to be.  I'll try to soon get some pix posted of our last week's quilt girls' day.

Have a great Sunday.
Thanks for visiting.

What a great find! I'd really like a treadle machine to add to my arsenal as well.

I think you made a pretty good find. I have never seen some of those features (spindles in the drawer for one), so I think this one is pretty special.

Oh Connie, My grandmother had one like this!! I remember sitting under it - she would take out the thread and let us push on the treadle!!! So lovely!

Lucky, lucky you! So many, many people long for a two-spool!
(I can't remember much else about the machine, but I thought it would be great for piecing or quilting a big project!)
