Today we Americans celebrate our country's independence.
Some people gather for picnics, go boating, have cookouts, and at night attend fireworks.
We probably will skip the city fireworks tonight with the severe heat we're having.
The forecast today is a high of 102 degrees and again tomorrow.
Last night we could hear some being set off at the country club.
Grandchildren Owen and Abby and I arrived home safely yesterday. The drive was easy enough but I noted several more vehicles on the roads than I usually encounter.
We all went to supper at Cracker Barrel and it wasn't crowded at all. I love to browse through the gift shop and see all fun stuff for sale ... I was able to resist and didn't buy a thing!
I wish everyone a happy day!
Thanks for visiting!

Happy 4th July! I am glad you are having fun with your grandchildren ;)
Happy 4th of July Connie!! Great post :) Thanks for stopping over on my blog :) You are such a dear friend!!
No fireworks here due to the fire so we will be in also. Happy 4th!!
It's very hot here in New York, as well. I stayed home in the central air and the kids are making use of our pool. We are so blessed to have ways of keeping cool when there are so many that don't. Happy 4th to you and your family. I love the Cracker Barrel gift shops, too!! The last time I visited one I came home with an adorable pink rocking chair for my two year old daughter. She sat in it and refused to leave without it. At least that's what I told my husband!! : )
