This first quilt is a Thimbleberries BOM
that I machine pieced when I first started quilting.
The twelve blocks represent the months.
A friend quilted it for me as I didn't yet have my longarm then.
The two quilts below are shop samples
I purchased from The Village Mercantile years ago.
I have always enjoyed this throw.
Can't remember where I purchased it as I've had it a long time.
After taking a break from the applique borders for a log cabin quilt, I am again working on them. Yesterday, while watching a baseball game on TV, I spread out border #3 on the family room sofa to audition placement for some of the pieces. As I've mentioned in previous posts, I am making it up as I go, so I have no final plan exactly,
only thoughts in my head.
I got the design for the cup from a pair of pajamas and I made up the cupcake.
A quilt book had a strawberry design I could use.
The hat pattern is from a Susan Branch quilt pattern.
The colors are actually brighter and darker than they appear in these photos.
I wanted a teapot to put in the center of the strip and couldn't find anything that was the size and design that I liked so I drew one last night. Today I'll prep the fabric pieces.
None of what is in the photos is definite yet ... I may or may not use what is shown, and the placements of pieces may change as well.
I'm just trying things out to see if I like what I've done so far.
I have other pieces prepped and what is shown in the photos is iffy.
I would like to do some letters on either the top or bottom border
but first will have to come up with shapes that work for me.
I don't enjoy doing applique on sharp inside corners.
Have a happy Friday.
Thanks for visiting!

Yes...it is Fall here in Michigan, too. I had to laugh, some of my very first quilts were Thimbleberries, too. I absolutely love what you are doing for your applique borders. They will definitely be original just to you. Can't wait to see them finished.
Hi GF. Your Autumn quilts are lovely.
I did that same BOM by Thimbleberries when I was new to quilting! I keep the quilt up at the cabin!!!

Hi Connie, so long since I have visited blogs, but now have decided to treat myself when I can. So much has been awful in my life, I am really enjoying reading of other lives and other people's wonderful quilts etc.
